ABOUT
Creating opportunities in the arts for young people is one of Main Stage's core values. Main Stage Youth Division seeks to provide Humboldt County youth with dynamic training in the performing arts, with both local artists and industry professionals, in addition to unique and enriching performance opportunities.
SCHOOL YEAR YOUNG PERFORMERS PROGRAM: Our K-12 Young Performers Company program runs around the school year calendar (September-May) with auditions in January and August each year. The YPC program provides performance training through first hand experience of participating in a production or studying a musical as a class student, for this reason, YPC corresponds with our Seasonal show calendar at the Arkley Center with our youth company performers having opportunities to perform in either full length or Family Series productions each fall and spring. Advanced performers also take on a variety of performance projects throughout the year from performing at community events, to piloting new musical works, and collaborating with professional guest artists.
SUMMER STAGE: Summer Stage production workshops are offered during the summer months. K-8 students to rehearse and perform an MTI Kids or Junior musical throughout the course of the two week workshop. Summer Stage is open registration with no audition required.
Main Stage believes in fostering an inclusive environment in all areas of our programming. We welcome those of every ethnicity, race, faith, gender identity, income and ability.
