THE YOUNG
PERFORMERS COMPANY
Where it all started! Developed in 2014, Main Stage Young Performers Company is a dynamic performing arts company composed of 15 serious youth artists ages 7-12 (Kids Company) and 13-18 (Teen Company). The company
takes on a variety of projects from appearing at community events, to piloting new musicals works, and recently, appearing at the Triad Theater in New York City.
YPC also serves as the training ground for Main Stage Humboldt. The young artists study and perform alongside professional talent in the Main Stage season annually.
Main Stage holds Young Performers Company auditions for serious performers each August.
APPRENTICE COMPANY
The Apprentice Company is geared towards performers ages 9-12 with or without previous performance experience. Apprentices explore voice, dance, and acting technique, building their skills while also having access to a variety of performance opportunities. Apprentices perform as the youth chorus in Main Stage seasonal productions (fall) as well a Family production presented by the Youth Division (spring), in addition to several community events throughout the year. With classes meeting 1-2x weekly this is an ideal track for youth wanting to get involved in musical theatre and/or those wanting to grow their skills. Registration via audition is open in September and January .
PRE-COMPANY
Pre-Company is an introduction to the performing arts program for ages 5-8. Classes meet around the school year calendar with opportunities to perform in both a Family production produced by the Youth Division (spring) as well as community performance opportunities occurring throughout the year. Curriculum includes Musikgarten, Dance Foundations, and Creative Drama. Registration via audition is open in September and January .
SUMMER STAGE
Summer Stage is an open registration workshop for ages 4-12. Students will workshop a musical for two weeks in July/August to be presented the final weekend. Students will be introduced to the basics of voice, acting, and dance as they work to craft a production. Summer Stage is a perfect opportunity for new students with or without previous experience to explore the world of musical theatre.
